Coaches
Kevin is excited for his second season coaching the Garrett Park Ladybugs. He grew up in the area and learned to love summer swimming as a member of Country Glen swim team. At Country Glen, he was a part of an MCSL record setting relay in the Boys Open Medley. After graduating, he coached over ten years as an assistant coach at Country Glen and then seven seasons as head coach of Wildwood Manor. Currently, Kevin coaches year round at Tollefson Swimming and is also the Co-Head Coach for Wootton Swimming and Diving. He looks forward to continuing the Ladybug traditions that have been built throughout the years.
Maddy is super excited to join the Ladybugs this summer! She began her swimming journey with the Rockshire Sharks in 2008, where she swam and eventually coached until 2023. She’s been coaching for 12 years, and most recently has been an age group coach for All Star Aquatics. When she’s not at the pool, she’s working remotely on her masters degree in Environmental Science and Wildlife Management.
Charlie is looking forward to joining the Ladybugs this summer as an Assistant Coach. He swam with the Rock Creek Fins for eight years and has been coaching MCSL for the past four years. Charlie currently attends Case Western Reserve University, and is Co-President of their club swim team. He's looking forward to getting to the know the Ladybugs and sharing his love of swimming with the team.
Maren swam her last season as a Ladybug in 2023, finishing with 11 Garrett Park Swim Team records. She graduated from Walter Johnson where she was a member of their swim team, earning 10 state championships and the Women's MVP award twice. Maren continues to swim at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Maren returns for her third year as a part-time assistant coach and is eager to share her swimming knowledge and experience with the Ladybugs.
