13 & Over Trip
Harpers Ferry Adventure Center

We will be going flatwater tubing on the Shenandoah River at the Harpers Ferry Adventure Center. (https://harpersferryadventurecenter.com/flat-water-tubing/This trip is for swimmers ages 13+ or swimmers who are 12 but rising 8th graders

Timing:We will be carpooling from the GP parking lot at8:30 am. We will arrive at the adventure center shortly after 10 pending traffic. The flat water section of the river takes roughly 2 hours, so we will have enough time for everyone to go down the river twice. We will return to GP via carpool at roughly 4 pm.

Carpooling: More details to come on carpool arrangements once we know the number of swimmers attending.

Pricing:We are hoping to qualify for a group discount of 20% off. If not, it will be just under $40 per person.

Chaperones: We will be in need of some parent chaperones for this trip. The exact number is unknown at the moment and will depend on the number of swimmers signed up. If you have interest, please email [email protected] or [email protected]

Clothing: Please note that Flip-Flops are not allowed as footwear, due to safety concerns. It is recommended guests wear swimsuits and water shoes or something equivalent for the activity. Footwear with a strap around the ankle is required; guests without appropriate footwear will not be permitted on the trip. HFAC sells water shoes and straps for glasses (chums) on site.

Belongings: After check in guests are asked to leave everything they will not be taking onto the river with them in one of the on-site lockers or in their vehicles. Guests may bring their own locks for lockers or purchase them on-site. HFAC has a complimentary key check and guests are HIGHLY encouraged to NOT take car keys onto the river. Everything you bring on the shuttle will go with you onto the river, will get wet and has the potential of getting lost. HFAC is not responsible for anything that is lost on the river so please leave items like jewelry behind.

Liability waiver:When we sign-up for our reservation, an email will be sent to all parents containing the liability information to sign. There will also be a second waiver from GPST.
